Owned and operated by Nikki & Dallas Coull, See Adelaide and Taste the Barossa are part of a wonderful story we are putting together since we met in the European summer of 1996. Having met in Greece while I was spending a couple of summers working and Nikki was there on holiday from her home in the UK.
It wasn’t easy at first, Nikki wasn’t going to move to Australia on the back of meeting a silly Aussie bloke in the beautiful Greek village of Lindos on the Island of Rhodos.
We took a while to get our act together however in 2004 I moved to the UK and we have been together ever since. James, Georgia and Tamsin make up our beautiful family. After 6 years living in the UK we made the move to Adelaide and started Taste the Barossa.
As a kid I worked in the Barossa and have always had a love for everything the Barossa represents… passion, family, quality, integrity. When we talk about some of the stories of how the region grew to be one of the world’s best food and wine regions I hope you might understand what I mean. In the mid 90’s I started Groovy Grape Getaways which soon became a significant company running tours between Melbourne-Adelaide-Alice Springs in the adventure travel market however that company also started doing day tours from Adelaide to the Barossa Valley.
We started Taste the Barossa to truly showcase the beautiful and historic Barossa Valley focusing on quality food, wine and the amazing scenery. Taste the Barossa is the only Adelaide based company focusing 100% on daily Barossa Valley tours. When we started Taste the Barossa I believed the Barossa was being let down by the quality of the products serving the region. In the 7 years since we started we have been rated #1 tour operator in Adelaide on Trip Advisor with well over 700 Excellent/Very Good reviews which would imply we are on the right track!
See Adelaide was launched in 2014 to provide a tour option like no other available. We are proud to say that See Adelaide is the first company committed to operate departures 7 days a week from Adelaide to the McLaren Vale wine region. See Adelaide is designed to showcase South Australia and its regions to people already aware of it’s amazing natural beauty however our even bigger aim is to raise the awareness of this incredibly beautiful and diverse state of South Australia to the world!
